A Scorpio’s personality is a chasm of infinite complexity (or at least how they project themselves). They are difficult people to get to know because they are psychological trap doors.
Scorpios socialize from behind a double-sided mirror, always scanning, reading you while you can only see your own reflection. They prefer to be the people asking the questions, removing your skin with their perceptive scalpel and taking inventory of your pulsing viscera. They subtly probe and push your pressure points so they can get the answer they’re seeking. Scorpios are keenly aware of power, its flows, and their position within its matrix.

Scorpios aren’t afraid of most things other people fear. Not darkness. Not pain. Not death. They confront these truths head on.
Instead of instilling fear, this acknowledgement of darkness is the whetstone that hones their appreciation for life. Scorpios teeter on the fine edge of the unknowable. Life is more bearable that way.
Scorpios do fear vulnerability because they are scared of being known. Darkness can be a hiding place. Pain can be an excuse not to trust. When they open up, it gives other people power over them, and Scorpios need to be in control. Control–over themselves and others–is an illusion to make them feel secure in an otherwise uncertain world.

Scorpio’s ability to be direct and establish immediate intimacy causes people to fall for them quickly, but it takes them a while to open themselves up to someone enough to really fall in love. For Scorpios, love is the capacity for pain. Love also means partially relinquishing some self-control and this is especially hard for a Scorpio.
When they do let someone in, they fall in love completely. They can be fiercely possessive. Scorpios want to learn everything about you. They want to be around you as much as possible and can get attached scarily fast.

Their uninhibited flirtatiousness is not about making friends. They flirt with others to take control of the situation and assert dominance. Scorpios are the type to whisper in your ear “I see you looking” if they catch you staring and then smile wickedly.
Scorpios don’t make small talk. They stare into your eyes and say, “I know you’re feeling something.” Scorpios don’t need to say “I like you” to get you to like them. They don’t have to play nice–they say exactly what they mean exactly how they mean it.
