Jyotir Vignan (Astrology) is one of the ancient Vedic knowledge. It is based on the principle that the heavenly bodies of the Cosmos exert influence on the life and mundane events on Earth. In a modern-day context, it is applied astronomy to terrestrial events. Jyotisha (Astrology) is a Vedanga consisting of Ganita (Mathematical) and Phalita (Predictive) branches. As a premodern scientific theory, the Universe came into existence following a huge explosion about 15 billion years ago. Sun is a self-luminous body of the solar system and Earth is its third planet. As of now, only this planet has life. The influence of the Sun and Moon on Earth is a well-established fact by Scientists, Doctors and Psychologists. Jyotisha (Astrology) deals with the influence of cosmic bodies on animate and inanimate things of the Earth. This has been studied and tested by our ancient sages (intellectuals) over centuries and propounded astrological principles. This book aims at giving a bird’s-eye-view on astronomy-related to astrology, general astrology, mathematical, predictive, Dasha, transit, Tajik and muhurta astrology. It comprehensively covers basic information related to the predictive process. It also gives tools that are required for the predictive purpose and all these have been arranged in inter-related sequence. This branch of knowledge, if studied in a systematic way, gives a better understanding of human life in society.
