Scientific Truth on Palmistry by K Padmanabhan

The word ‘Ullangai’ (palm of the hand) can also be characterized to mean the Mind (ULLAM) and the HAND (Kai) of a human being. The Tamil word ULLAM, (transliterated in English script) represents the Mind. Likewise, the Tamil word ‘KAI represents the HAND. What one means in his mind could be read through his hand. The mounts and lines seen in one’s hand (Palm) clearly indicate the happenings in life (Past, Present and Future). The ancient sages of our country had showed their excellency in the art of palmistry for centuries in the past. By reading there linear markings in palms they could tell the ups and downs in one’s life and the ways to better one’s prosperity (as read from the markings) and also the safeguarding measures to ward off any ill – predictions. But unfortunately, those sages of the ancient times did train up only a few of their followers, who showed their integrity & affinity towards their masters by adopting GURUKULA VASAM. The extent was limited to GURU – SISHYA bindings alone.

Inspite of these limitations and selfish attitudes, the Art of Palmistry, somehow or other, expanded its base and sooner than later, many countries in the world at large began to taste the benefits accruing from it. In course of time, this art of Palmistry had attained the status attached to Sasthras but also became to be known as a scientific sector. During the 17th/18th Centuries, the science of Palmistry was instituted as one among other important branches of study in LEIPZIG and HALL Universities of Germany.

At the next stage, Palmistry was used for the benefit of fields such as Medicines, Psychology and Sociology. In the country of Greece, Alexander the Great who also happened to be a philosopher, had full faith in Palmistry. Out of fascination he was persuaded to such an extent that he handed over a book on the science of Palmistry to the Great Philosopher of Greece, ARISTOTLE in order that the Great Man would translate that book into Greek language. When printing technology was not in vogue that time, books were written manually in golden letters. The book on ‘Palmistry Science’ translated into Greek by ARISTOTLE was one of those, manually written. As and when Printing Technology came into being, the book translated by ARISTOTLE was also printed among other manually written ones. It is worth noting that these books including the one translated by ARISTOTLE were the first lot that had been published first and foremost. The same is now being preserved and kept in the British Archeological Centre.

It is also worth noting that a copy of an ancient Book on Palmistry is preserved in one of the PYRAMID Towers in Egypt.

In the Holy Bible (Samuel Chapter) a line of words viz “What is there in my Palm that suggest some evil happening?” could be found.

‘Sri Rudhra’ Speaks high of the Hand as follows: “This Hand that I possess depicts the real sight of God in entirety. This is more than the Lord himself to me. This serves as medicine to myself and all other living beings. This is the one that touches Lord SHIVA and does the POOJA.”

There are lines on the entire human body, of course. One can easily observe such lines on his own feet among all these, the lines appearing in the palms alone are being taken very often for research work. Hence the title ‘SCIENTIFIC TRUTH ON PALMISTRY’ given to this English version of my creation.
