The first part of this book describes in detail the various methods of estimating longevity. The author now raises the question of marriage and deals with it in great detail. It was a belief among the ancients that the main purpose of marriage was to produce children, so that the soul of the departed would rest in peace. Of course modern views differ, but the birth of children is an important aspect of marriage. When Prasanna chart indicates marriage, we can predict that marriage will take place at the time of Moon’s transit. There is a lack of subtle energy to conceive even if the victim, wife’s pregnancy etc. is normal. Careful study of seeds and field theory is very essential.
While there is a general saying that Jupiter, placed in the house of children, as the cause of children, destroys the house, the author seems to extend that theory further, when he says, on the authority of the ancient sages, That Jupiter is equal in 5th Capricorn or Pisces natives feel sad due to the death of a child. If Pisces is to be 5th, then the Ascendant should be Scorpio. If Jupiter is in the fifth house, then his functions as a karaka and a lord become equal. He will also look at the marriage. Yet the result is extremely unfavourable. Then when someone is born in Pisces and has Jupiter in the 5th (Cancer) he has many daughters. If seen from above, this yoga can be considered impossible. But the author says that this is the opinion of the sages. These combinations should be balanced in the light of other favorable or unfavorable factors affecting the children’s home.
