Arthritis may affect the heart, eyes, lungs, kidneys and skin as well as the joints. Symptoms generally include joint pain and stiffness, redness, warmth, swelling, and decreased range of motion or mobility of the affected joints. As a disability, arthritis can seriously limit people’s mobility, preventing them from walking, climbing stairs, bathing, getting dressed, preparing meals and living live to its fullest.
